Wake Forest’s Scotty Kennon shot his second consecutive 3-under-par 67 to join a tie for 11th at 8-under 202 entering Saturday’s final round of the Southern Amateur at Idle Hour Country Club in Lexington, Kentucky. Kennon is four strokes behind leaders Wenyi Ding of Arizona State, Lance Simpson of Tennessee and Australian Quinnton Croker.
Kennon, a native of Ponte Verde Beach, Florida, is a rising senior at Wake Forest. In the spring, Kennon was medalist at the Calusa Cup in Naples, Fla., where teams included Florida, Georgia and Georgia Tech.
