Tournament officials announced Wednesday afternoon that the threat of dangerous conditions from Hurricane Debby was the reason behind the decision. Weather.com listed a forecast for Thursday to including heavy rain with winds of up to 18 mph.
Officials said Thursday grounds tickets can be used for any one day through the completion of the tournament.
Rain is also forecasted for Friday. Skies are expected to clear for Saturday and Sunday.
