Scott Harvey set to defend title at Tournament of Champions
Defending champion Scott Harvey of Greensboro headlines the field for the 14th annual Triad Golf Today Tournament of Champions, which is set for Greensboro National Golf Club April 10-11.
Harvey rolled to an eight-shot victory in last year’s event, shooting 69-70 in soggy conditions. The 139 total and margin of victory both set records in the event which is open only to amateurs who won tournaments or club championships the previous year.
The Triad Golf Today Interclub Challenge is played in conjunction with the T of C. Southwick Golf Club of Graham won last year’s team event by two shots over 2008 champion Sedgefield.
The top four finishers from each club championship tournament are invited to participate in the Interclub Challenge. Alternates from the membership are allowed if the players from the top four are not available. Scoring is best two balls of four.
Golf USA will serve as co-sponsor of this year’s event. Prizes will be in the form of gift certificates, redeemable at the Golf USA locations in Greensboro and Winston-Salem.
A list of the T of C qualifiers is on this page. If you know of other players who should be included, call or email Steve Williams, Tournament Director, at 336-280-3722 or editor@triadgolf.com.
