WHITSETT – The creek beds are dry now, showing off the familiar stones that help give the golf course its name.
More than anything over the past few years, though, Stoney Creek Golf Club has been best known for stonewalling its members and guests at almost every turn.
“You either hated Stoney Creek or you loved it,” admitted Kim Worrell, the managing partner and chief operating officer of Pinnacle Golf Properties, which manages the course. “We want to have a golf course that’s playable and a challenge, and that’s the hardest combination to achieve. The objective for this golf course was to make it more playable and fun.”
